Both DSE, CSE up at opening

Both the bourses –the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — witnessed positive trend in early hour of trading on Sunday.

The benchmark index of the premier bourse, DSEX advanced 13. 78 points at 11:27am while the Selective Category Index of port city bourse, CSCX rose over 8.07points.

DSEX went up by 13.78 points or 0.26 per cent to reach at 5196.03 after about one hour of trading.

The two other indices also saw positive trend till then. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose 5.07 points or 0.41 per cent to stand at 1227.27 points. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 6.74 points or 0.36 per cent to stand at 1870.99points.

Turnover stands at Tk 2921.46 million on the premier bourse riding on Bangladesh Export Import Company Ltd and Ratanpur Still Steel Re-rolling Mills Limited.

Of the issues traded till then, 140 advanced, 115 declined and 45 issues remained unchanged.

BEXIMCO dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 187.36 million changing hands till then, followed by RSRMSTEEL Tk173.59 million, and PENINSULA Tk 151.64 million.

The port city bourse the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also saw positive trend till then with its Selective Category Index – CSCX–gaining 8.07 points to stand at 9649.19 points, also at 11:24am.

Of the issues traded till then, 75 gained, 73 declined and 17 remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 143 million.
